In a move to expand its production capabilities and to up-skill its workforce, Custom Denning has installed a laser cutting machine the TruLaser Tube 5000 fiber at its manufacturing facility in Charles Street, St Marys.
Custom Denning has experienced significant growth in the past couple years and have recently invested in new technologies to improve operational efficiencies throughout their facilities. "We have significant demand for our locally made buses and need to improve our manufacturing processes to keep up with the demand” said Daniel Bale, the Head of Operations at Custom Denning.
The new state-of-the-art laser machine offers a chance to not only improve operational efficiencies but also allows Custom Denning to up-skill their current workforce. “We will continue to invest in our team by up-skilling them in these highly technical roles. As the business continues to grow, we will look to create more highly skilled positions to make Western Sydney a more attractive place to live and work”, said Daniel.
Since the new laser cutting machine has been installed, it has already had a significant impact on Custom Denning’s production capabilities, "Since we installed the machine, we've been able to significantly increase our precision and cutting speeds, allowing us to deliver our buses to our customers more quickly while still maintaining our high-quality standards”, said Daniel. “The laser cutter will also have the ability to etch part numbers on every component, which will benefit our clients by allowing them quickly identify components in the case of an accident.”
The installation of the TruLaser Tube 5000 fiber has been a significant investment for Custom Denning, but one that is already paying off in up-skilling of staff and increased efficiencies in manufacturing. With this new technology, Custom Denning looks well-positioned to continue its growth and setup for the future success in the industry.
